Stewarding Opportunity

Expand your knowledge and lend a hand in the 'Voices & Choices' exhibition!

As part of 'Hexham Abbey Remembers' there will be the opportunity for exhibition stewards to receive training so they can pass on information to visitors. If you are already a steward who would like to be on duty in the exhibition or if you would like to give stewarding a go for the first time you are welcome to attend either of the following training sessions:

Exhibition Steward Training Session 1 – Friday 26th October 2018, 10am

Exhibition Steward Training Session 2 – Sunday 28th October 2018, 11.30am

Heritage Lottery Funding and has made these training sessions possible; they are a fantastic opportunity for you to deepen your own knowledge of WWI and of the Abbey. Training will be delivered by Caroline Westgate who has a deep knowledge of the WWI Voices & Choices Exhibition and by a member of the Conservation Team who will outline the content of the talks. If you receive the training you will be required to steward in the exhibition for a time during the fortnight it is running, Saturday 3rd to Friday 16th November. This could be during your usual stewarding shift if you are already a steward or for just a couple of hours. If you would like to be a Hexham Abbey Remembers Steward and could come to one of the above training sessions please get in touch with Sally McRobie on 01434 602031 or email sally.mcrobie@hexhamabbey.org.uk
