We welcome visiting groups, and can cater for up to 100 guests at a time. We offer guided tours and can also arrange personalised talks and presentations on a range of subjects. We can also provide private refreshments in one of our beautiful historic meeting rooms, allowing you to take lunch in the Great Hall overlooking the Abbey or famous Beaumont Street. However it’s essential to book in advance!
The coach drop-off point is outside the Abbey Gift Shop, offering postcards, guide books and a range of souvenirs and gifts to suit every pocket. Special discounts on bulk purchase of guide books can be arranged for groups. Please ask the Abbey Administrator in advance of your visit, or enquire at the shop when you arrive.
Visitors to the Abbey are also welcome to enjoy ‘The Big Story’, our interactive exhibition bringing to life the history of the Abbey. This is free of charge.
Guided tours are available by arrangement. We offer one or more expert guides to take you round, depending on the size of your group. Tours of the Abbey usually take about one hour, and we make a charge of £5 per person (£4.50 per person for groups of 10+ people) which all goes to the upkeep of this wonderful building.
The Refectory Cafe can prepare special meals or teas in advance for visiting groups, taken either in the cafe, courtyard, or as noted above by arrangement in one of the many historic Priory building rooms depending on availability.
