Coronavirus Update

During the current pandemic, Hexham Abbey is committed to opening the Abbey as much as possible to visitors and worshipers whilst carefully following all government guidelines. When you arrive at the Abbey, you will be expected to wear a mask, adhere to social distancing and hand gel will be readily available. Despite these restrictions, you will still be given a warm welcome and we hope that you will have a wonderful experience in the Abbey.

THE ABBEY is open 10am-4pm every day for private prayer and to visitors.

Morning Prayer takes place in the Abbey at 9am Monday to Friday.

There are two Eucharists every week, on a Sunday at 10am and a Wednesday at 12 noon.

There are also online services via Zoom on Sundays at 11.45am and Wednesdays at 7.30pm.

THE REFECTORY CAFE is open daily from10am-4pm for food and drink to eat in or take away. Socially distanced seating is available inside, and outside in Prior Leschman's Garden.

THE ABBEY SHOP is open 11am-3pm.

THE BIG STORY EXHIBITION is open daily from 10am-4pm.
