Hexham Abbey has ten bells, the oldest of which dates back to 1742.

The bells are rung for Sunday services from 9.15am (before the 10.00am service) and at 5.30pm (before 6.30pm Choral Evensong). The Sunday evening ringing on the first Sunday of the month is usually a quarter peal attempt.

The Band practises on Thursday evenings, between 7.30 and 9.00, with Advanced Practices being held on the last Tuesday of the month, from 7.30pm.
